Well ray your old factory has gone the last of it has been demolished.Have you been back to filey lately the last time i was there butlins had been flattend.
My mate from butlins had the house where the old railway crossing is i dont know if his wife still lives there but he sadly has passed away he had his own taxi and his wife had the cafe on the station in scarbrough.
His name was alan crabtree i worked at butlins with him in york dinning hall.
I liked working at butlins prison camp even the staff quaters that were old prisoner of war huts.
We got flooded out twice and had no room to move but at least we had a better bar than campers.
I think they pulled the best camp down because i have worked at others but filey was the best.
One thing about working there you were fit having to walk a mile to set up for the breakfast mob then again for dinner and tea then when serving running up and down bays like a road runner with your racks.
One of the worst things was been told by a stupid training instructor not to sweat i mean you went and got the meals from a jackson in a redhot kitchen then you had to serve three course meal pluss put tea pots out and bread setting up cutelry and you had to wear a shirt and bowtie pluss jacket and red jeans what did the idiot expect.Yet it was good i even worked in the bar and pizza palour some nights because unlike the other staff we didnt get good wages we relied on tips and overtime.
