Jim and his dog Empty Jim and his dog

Jim loved to go to his local for a pint. Unfortunately the new landlord did not allow dogs, and Jim had a whippet – Ben - the best whippet in all Deneside.
So that night, when Jim entered the pub. the landlord came over.
“Nee dogs allowed, Jim, “ he said. “It’s the rules.”
“Aye,” whined Jim, “but it’s only me whippet, Ben. ”
“I kna”, said the landlord, “but he’s a dog and he’s not allowed.”
Jim trudged out of the door, dejected. But just outside he met old, blind Abraham.
“Hello Jim,” said Abe. “Coming in for a pint?”
“I can’t,” sighed Jim. “Nee dogs allowed..”
“Why, that’s nonsense,” cried Abe. “You leave it to me!.”
So they walked into the pub, and the landlord rushed over and said, “I told yer - nee dogs allowed!”
“But he’s me new guide-dog,” said Abe, “you must allow guide-dogs, surely?”
“Guide dog?” scoffed the landlord. Everyone knows that guide-dogs are always Labradors or golden retrievers or such like.”
Abe cocked his head to one side. “Oh aye,” he said, “so what they givven me?”

Jim and his dog Empty The Partial Blind Man, his monkey and our Black Cat called T

Post  VIP2006 Wed May 06, 2009 12:23 am

When we lived in Hexham Avenue, we had a black cat called Tommy, and he ruled the roost, my father was also called Tommy, and when we wanted to call the cat we shouted Tommy and tommy came, when we wanted to call father we stamped on the floor as my father was stone deaf.

When we moved to west lee we took the cat with us, but after a few days he went missing.

Now in Jasper there lived a partial blind man, who always rode his banger of a bike, and with a monkey on his shoulder.

He arrived at our door with Tommy the cat, and said the cat was living rough at the old house in hexham ave. and handed the cat over to my mother. He did this 3 times but each time the cat went back to hexham ave.
So if you see a old man on a mangle of a bike, with a patch over his eye and a monkey on his shoulder, and a black cat in his bike basket, you know that he was returning it back to us in wycliffe road west Lea. Its a true story beleive me

Regards to everyone and nice to hear from u ray

We had a cat like yours vip it was called micky it was my grandmothers and she lived in oxford street.
When she died my uncle and myself went to live with my mam and dad as i used to live with my gran and uncle.Anyway we took the cat but when it got out it went straight back to oxford street the trouble was the only way it would get into the house was through the bathroom window which was allways left open for him.
So when the new people moved in they got a shock to here a strange noise down stairs and thought it was a burglar (in a way it was a cat burglar) it frightend the crap out of them and they could never leave thier bathroom window open again,we never found out what happend to micky because he wasnt seen again.
They use to say that cats would allways go back to thier natural homes so if you move youshould try not to let them out.
Ray why is the bloke with the dog called jim,are you trying to say that i went out with some dogs (joke).
Anyway good to see you back so how are you,i see your snowy regular now as he is our brendas postman since his mate peter groak (yep he went to our school year above us.) finished.Snowy does speak now and seems to be okay.
